What a difference a week makes! One week ago we started our Sunday shows with rain and a poor crowd and poor car count but one week ago and its 70 degrees and a very good crowd and car count and fantastic show!

Robert Teadt, Jr. won his 2nd feature in as many nights as he survived a trip to the woods and won the 35 lap Mottville stock feature over Wesley Schaefer, Jason Schaefer, Larry Birk and Dustin Kline! Teadt started last but had the lead on lap 7 when he got up high in turns 3 and 4 and ended up in the woods! He restarted on the tail but  took over the lead from Wesley Schaefer again on lap 25. Schaefer hung tough with Teadt and at the finish line it was Teadt by mere inches! Wesley will definitely be winning some features this season I can assure you! He really look strong this week-end! Wes won the dash and Teadt the heat.

Jason Schaefer kept his season points lead and Birk hung on to 2nd place in the standings with Wes 3rd.

Jeff Brunt came to Mottville for only the 2nd time this season and won the 25 lap Pro Stock feature in convincing fashion over Paul Scott, Terry Kline and Dennis Zimmerman! Brunt made it a clean sweep as he also won the dash and heat! He said the $125 first prize was his biggest purse ever! Matt Buzzard had engine problems during the heat and had to retire for the night. After the races Zimmerman purchased two new Good Years so look out next week!

Randy Burns won his 3rd Thunder Car feature of the season as he held off Richard Allbee and Bill Crapo for the victory in the 35 lapper! At 20 laps the cars were reversed and ran the wrong way around the track for the final 15 laps but it stayed Burns, Allbee and Crapo for the top 3! Allbee, with a new paint job on the 99 car, won the dash and heat and gained 10 points of season points leader Bryan Whitaker .

Fred Garrett made it 7 feature wins in 8 nights of racing with a victory in the 35 lap Mini Thunder Car feature over rookie Greg Schaefer. Garrett also won the heat.

Joe Firtzpatrick told me after the races that he will have his MTC 4 back real soon and that his brother, his father and 2 other friends were also building MTC! Sounds like we should soon have 10-12 MTC every night!

The next 5 Sundays are really big at Mottville! This Sunday, April 21, is perhaps our biggest race of the season-the Raymond Beers Memorial! We expect our largest car count and crowd of the season and perhaps our largest of both for several seasons!

April 28 the Mottville Stock 4 Cylinders will run for $250 to win! May 5 is Cinco De Mayo Day and tacos will be only $1 plus Pro Stocks will run for $350 to win!

May 12 is Mother’s Day and all mothers will receive a free hot dog and soft drink plus the Mottville Stocks will run for $250 to win! May 19 the Pro Stocks run again for $350 to win!

We are committed to building a big field of Pro Stocks and Mottville Stocks this season to go along with our supporting classes of Thunder Cars, Mini Thunder Cars and Karts!

Sunday morning I drove a kart on a road course and it was the first time I had driven a kart in about 35 years! I have to tell it was really exciting and had me thirsting for more! So will I return to stock car driving? No but it sure had the blood flowing!

Looking forward to another great week-end of racing at Mottville and hope to see you there this Saturday and Sunday!
