RANDY BURNS won his first Bomber
feature of the season before the largest crowd of the season Saturday night at
the Mottville Speedway! Thursday Burns purchased 4 new Good Year tires and he
came back Saturday to win the 25 lap feature, dash and heat for a clean sweep!
Stan Siczek was 2nd in the feature. Fred Lowrey put two new Good
Years on his car during intermission and came back to finish 3rd
after leading laps 3-14 before he gave way to Burns! Gary Denzel was 4th
and Dale Jacobs 5th. Wayne Saily, 2nd in the season
points, had a flat tire during the feature and was 6th.
Victor
Krontz purchased the MTC of Joe Fitzpatrick just before race time and went on to
win the 25 lap MTC feature over Brian Jenkins, Jennifer Jenkins, Fred Garrett
and Leroy Dick. Garrett won the dash and Krontz won the heat.
Jeff
Brunt made it 6 Pro Stock feature wins as he took the 15 lapper over Tom Myers
and Ernie Hassler. Brunt picked up $100 for the win in the 3 car field and also
won the heat. Season points leader Paul Scott crashed his car Friday night at
another track and will be out for sometime!
Robert
Teadt, Jr. won his 8th Mottville Stock feature of the season and $100
with a 15 lap win over Wesley Schaefer. Season points leader Jason Schaefer blew
his engine in the heat which Teadt also won.
Richard
Allbee won an exciting Thunder Car 20 lap feature as he held off John Wegner and
Doug Gage for the win, his 2nd in a row! Wegner won the heat.
Adam
Steglich won the kart heat and 8 lap feature.
The
Midwest Mini Stockers came to Mottville for the first time ever and put on a
great show! Jerry Benson, 2001 champion, won the 20 lap feature over Tim
Brundige, Gene Atherton, Tom Hicks and Freman Hochstetler. Atkinson won the
heat.
The
beautiful weather brought out a large crowd and we had the facility looking
great for them! I was at the track every day this week and Thursday Ersell and
her son, Tim Eby, painted all the front trash barrels including 6 new ones,
bright yellow while Judy Holden mowed and I did the garbage and acted as a
"go fer”! Friday Vic Krontz mowed a good share of the day and Ersell and
I mowed from about 7 pm until almost 10 pm but all told we mowed about every
blade of grass that was not under water! I think we are finally caught up with
the mowing! Trouble is every time I work at Mottville I find about 5 more things
that need to be done!
Bill
Crapo returned to drive the wrecker and said he should have his Bomber running
next week-end! That is good news! Saily plans on buying a set of Good Years next
week-end and watch for him then!
Now if the rains will get out of here Sunday before we open it would sure be nice! I am expecting a good field of cars Sunday and hope to see you at Mottville!
