MOTTVILLE MINI CUPS will run 15 dates at the Mottville Speedway during the 2003 season! These are the same cars know as MMSRA at Mottville during the 2002 season! They will run on all Saturdays-April 26, May 3,17,31, June 7, 21 July 5,19, August 2,9,30, September 13,27 , October 4 and 18. Their proposed rules for 2003 will be similar to a group of cars from Jackson, Mi and they get a few of those cars from time to time! Right now they have the following cars planning on running in 2003: Freeman Hochstetetler (3), Steve Slemp (45), Dave Kutz(88), Tim Brundige (77) , Gene Atherton (28) and either Scott Young or his son in 11. On the nights we run the MMC we not run Pro Stocks. Plus 3 nights we will run the Street Stocks for 50 laps $250 to win, 2 nights the Mini Stocks for 50 laps $250 to win. On those 5 nights the Pro Stocks will not run which will give the PS a total of 50 nights for 2003 season for points vs. 82 for the other 3 classes. JENKINS NAPA AUTO PARTS STORES in Nappanee, Bremen, Wakarusa, Milford and Goshen will again sponsor a dash plaque for the 2003 each night! We appreciate their continued support! I ordered a 1350 watt microwave oven for the concession stand Monday! This will replace one of the 1000 watters we now have and be much quicker! Also we are dropping pizza from the menu in 2003 due to volume and it takes too long! But we will still have a very good selection of hot dogs, cheese dogs, chili dogs, chili-cheese dogs, great tasting bbq and sloppy joes, nachos and cheese, nachos, chili and cheese, popcorn, hot pretzels with and without cheese, soft drinks, coffee, and bottled water. We want to be able to serve people quickly! Tina Garrison, ace reporter for the Elkhart Truth, called me this week and wants pictures for the paper of our banquet! She wants one group picture of the season points champs, one of the rookie of the years and a 3rd one of the sportsman of the year. Nice recognition for our drivers! This web site passed 50,000 hits on Sunday, 2-9-03! Just over one year ago, on 1-27-02 we passed 19,000 hits! So that is 31,000 hits in about 53 weeks! Simply unreal for a small time operation! It is a real credit to our former webmaster David T. Schaeffer and our current web mistress Rita Courtney! We will continue to strive to give you updated information and results as fast as we possibly can! Just hours now until our 12th Annual Awards Banquet! Should be fantastic and I am really looking forward to it big time! Only days away until FEBRUARY FOLLIES II on Sunday, February 23 and then only 8 days later the season starts on March 1! Time should move rather fast now! This has been a very cold winter but it has to end sometime! Looking at the forecast for next week it would seem temperatures are finally moderating! At least the highs are up to mid 30's finally and low's staying around the 20's! That will help! Would really be great it could manage to hit 40 on February 23!
