JON FITZPATRICK  won his 5th Mini Stock feature of the season and second in a row on a cold Saturday night at the Mottville Speedway!

Eric Root gave Fitzpatrick all he could handle in the 30 lapper and led several laps before finally settling for 2nd followed by Dennis Zimmerman, Joe Fitzpatrick and John Fitzpatrick. Jon Fitzpatrick won the dash over Root and Zimmerman and John Fitzpatrick won the heat over Jon Fitzpatrick and Root.

Defending two time Mini Thunder Car champion Fred Garrett won his 6th feature of the season in a 20 lapper but was seriously challenged by season points Derk Sargent before Sargent ran out of gas! Richard Allbee then took 2nd. Sargent won the heat over Garrett and Allbee.

Pro Stock defending points champion and current points leader Paul Scott won his 8th feature of the season in a 15 lapper.

We finally had a street stock show up and Brad Blackburn won the 15 lap feature to take the points lead!

It was the final Saturday night race of the season for the Pro Stocks who will now run Sunday only through September.

The cold weather again held our car count down but we can see that before long the MS and MTC classes should have full car counts! SS finally got started and before too much longer they should have decent car counts!

Albert “Pappy” Hershberger, long time push truck driver at several area tracks including Mottville, was present for the first time this season after having a leg amputated late last year. It was great seeing Pappy again and he was looking very good and in good spirits!

Victor Krontz, who suffered a heart flare-up  the week of the season opener  and spent a full week in the hospital, was also back!

Want to wish a belated happy birthday to Lee Ann Gaines, Fred Garrett’s lady friend who had a birthday Monday!

A reminder that we resume Thursday evening open practices starting this Thursday from 6-9 pm. They will continue until Thanksgiving.

9 nights down in March and only one to go! Hopefully after we get tomorrow over with we will have some warmer weather!
