BOB TEADT, JR came to the Mottville Speedway for the first time in 2003 Sunday night and won the 25 lap Mini Stock feature and took home $100 for the night.

Teadt started next to last in the feature and Jerime Damron started on the tail but Teadt worked his way to the front passing early leader Eric Root and then Damron caught up and closed the gap on Teadt but at the finish was just a car length behind! Jimm Jones, 2nd in the points in 2002, also came to Mottville for the first time in 2003 and came home 3rd followed by Merle Yoder, season points leader Root, Floyd Wood, Jason Schaefer, Jon Fitzpatrick and Glenna Sargent.

Teadt also won the heat over Jones and Damron while Yoder took the dash over Root and Fitzpatrick.

Jeff Brunt won his 4th Pro Stock feature of the season with an easy 15 lap win over Randy Morley, season points leader Paul Scott and Vern Hammond. Morley won the heat over Brunt and Scott.

Street Stock season points leader Robert Sutton won his 7th feature of the season with a 15 lap victory over Gene Stanley and Terry Zimmerman. Results were the same in the heat.

Two time defending champion Fred Garrett moved to within 5 points of season points leader Derk Sargent by getting by Sargent on the final lap of the 12 lap feature and winning his 15th feature of the season by less than a half car length! David Edmonds was 3rd and results were the same in the heat.

Defending kart season points champion Jacob Caines moved into a tie for the season points lead by winning the 8 lap feature and heat.

We had our largest crowd of the season and high car count for the season!

Boy what a difference a day makes! Saturday was cool, breezy and dark and the car count and crowd were way down! Sunday it warmed up about 10 degrees, the wind left and it was sunny! We made an outstanding MS pay-off paying the top 6 drivers $100-$75-$60-$50-$50 and $40! Any driver who ran both the heat and feature made at least $35!

We tied are season high MS car count with 10 but 8 of those 10 were the fastest 8 cars we have ever had in the MS division! It was , to put it mildly, a very strong field of MS cars!

We registed 4 new cars, 2 MS, a PS and a SS! Pro Stocks had their season high car count with 6 but Ryan Prough blew his engine hot lapping!

Derk Sargent broke an axle on his MTC hot lapping but Richard Allbee loaned him his car for the night which was very nice of Mr. Allbee since it allowed Derk to keep his season points lead!

We actually had 11 MS on the grounds but one car was dqed in pre-race inspection for being a whopping 245 pounds light!

Teadt’s car, by the way, was inspected from one end to the other and is legal! Those doubting it need to look it over close and tell me why it is not legal!

So 2 nights down and one to go in our first triple header week-end of the season! Monday night is trophy night and we are giving out nice trophies to the dash and heat winners for the PS, SS, MS and MTC divisions and top 3 in those divisions in the feature. In addition we hope to have karts and may even have Mottville Mini Cup cars as well!

Terry Zimmerman moved into 4th in the season points standings for the MS division. Allbee should move into 3rd in the MTC standings Monday! Edmonds moved into 7th!

By now it should be obvious to all who have eyes and can see that we are enforcing our rules! Last week 2 MS cars disqualified for illegal equipment and tonight one MS car not allowed to run because of too light and a 2nd MS forced to run PS because of headers and racing tires. So read the rules!

Anyway a  great night of racing and one more night left in this week-end! Should be another great night of racing!
