BARRY
HARRISON won his 2nd feature of the
season on a beautiful Saturday night at the Mottville Speedway as he won the 20
lap Mini Stock feature over season points leader Eric Root, John Yoder, Todd
Behlke and leading rookie Glenna Sargent.
In
the first MS “B” feature of the season Yoder won his first feature of the
season with a 12 lap victory over Behlke, Sargent and Matt Van Dam. Van Dam and
Sargent got together on the front stretch during the B feature and 12 year old
Van Dam hit the wall hard but vowed to be back soon!
Root
won the dash over Van Dam and Yoder and the heat over Harrison and Yoder.
Mini
Thunder Car season points leader Fred Garrett won his 19th feature of
the season as he just nipped Richard Allbee at the finish line in the 15 lapper!
Derk Sargent was 3r4 followed by Troy King and 12 year old Andrew Behlke.
Garrett also won the heat over Sargent and Behlke.
Charley
Krontz won his first street stock feature of the season with a 12 lap win over
season points leader Robert Sutton.
Mottville
Mini Cup season points leader John Hackler just beat Freeman Hochstetler to the
finish line to win the 15 lap feature. Dave Kutz was 3rd and results
were the same in the heat.
Mike
Zehr won the kart heat and 10 lap feature.
The
warm weather (finally!)
produced a much high car count and crowd than we have had of late! We registered
3 new MTC and one MS!
Had
a lot of inquiries about the proposed new Bomber class and we hope to have
several cars racing very soon!
Dave
Smith a new MTC at the track but blew the engine during the heat.
It
was great to have the Behlke family back after a long absence. Andrew drove a
MTC for the first time after driving karts for several years and he looked very
good!
You
have to admire the spunk of Matt Van Dam. He hit the wall hard and damaged the
front end of his car badly but he is all ready to race again as soon as the car
is fixed!
Tina
Garrison had a nice article in the Elkhart Truth Thursday on Eric Root and Rita
Courtney! The next Mottville driver to be profiled will be Paul Scott around
August 10.
The
weather forecast
for Sunday is scattered thunder showers but rest
assured we will run at Mottville unless it comes down in buckets! We have
lost one night already this season to Mother Nature and one is enough! John
Yoder even said he might come back and race two nights in a row!
Less
than a week now until the Short Track Challenge Series
comes to Mottville for the first truck races ever! Less than 3 weeks
until the June 27 first Friday night special of the season with MS running 50
laps for $250 to win! Should be exciting!
If
you want to get involved in MTC racing Chuck Hall has 3 MTC for sale! See the ad
on the bulletin board at this web site.
For
those of you planning to build a MTC or Bomber keep in mind that when we start
running Bombers both Bombers and MTC will have a $500 claimer rule or $700 with
full roll cage. Anyone can claim a car within 5 minutes after the feature if
they have cash! We expect a lot of claiming and this should keep the cost of
racing in these two “economy” classes low!
It
was great to have a beautiful night for once. We may well pay for it Sunday but
rain or shine we will be racing at Mottville Sunday!
