BOB
FRUIT won the inaugural Short Track Trucks.com
Challenge Series 30 lap feature on a warm Saturday night at the Mottville
Speedway! Fruit passed early leader Shaun Bergdoll on lap 7 and then held off
Keith Wioncek for the win. Bergdoll settled for 3rd followed by Jesse
Worcester, Rod Morrison and Jim Froling.
Fruit
won the dash over Bergdoll and Wioncek and Cary Cole took the heat over Fruit
and Worcester.
The
trucks return to Mottville on August 16.
Charley
Krontz won his 3rd street stock feature in 4 tries as he took the 12
lapper over season points leader Robert Sutton. Results were the same in the
heat.
Mini
Stock season points leader Eric Root won his 7th feature of the
season with a 12 lap victory over John Yoder and leading rookie Glenna Sargent.
Results were the same in the heat.
Two
time defending Mini Thunder Car champion and current points leader Fred Garrett
fought it out for 15 laps with Steve Clifford in the 15 lap feature before coming
home with his 21st feature win of the season! Clifford was a close 2nd
followed by Root, Derk Sargent and Dave Smith. Garrett won the dash and Clifford
won the heat.
Scott
Denning came to Mottville for the first time and won the kart 12 lap feature
over Mike Zehr. Results were the same in the heat and Zehr moved to 2nd
in the season points standings.
Sutton
has built a new street stock and is raffling off his street stock truck #71 with
tickets selling for $10 each! So if you ever wanted to own a street stock this
one is “turn key” and ready to race!
The
trucks really put on a good show! They had 8 trucks for their first race ever
but had mechanical woes with 2 of them. They expect around 15-18 trucks when
they return to Mottville in August.
It
was great to see Gary Denzel back at Mottville! Gary was spectating and late
last season he blew the engine on his then Bomber car but told me he has been
remodeling his house this year but will have his street stock back out to
Mottville yet this season and in 2004 he plans to run a full season at Mottville!
Richard
Allbee, Rich Allbee and Tom Pearson did a great job on the pit tower installing
a new floor and new stairs railing and new window! Plus Richard and Rich also
had the entire grounds mowed and looking great!
Josh
Krontz may well have the first Bomber car! Charley says Josh has the car and it
will not take much to get it going! Remember Bombers are 6 cylinder, front wheel
drive and very stock! Someone is going to start pretty soon and end up winning a
season championship!
Speaking
of season points championships Derk Sargent will probably take over the MTC
points lead again Sunday as Garrett has a truck trip to Louisville!
Charlie
Krontz should move into 3rd in the SS points after Sunday!
Richard
Allbee hot lapped Garret’s car and as a result suffered back pain and had to
turn his car over to Root for the feature!
Sure
was nice to have 80 degree temps for the first time since April!
Sunday
all father’s buying a ticket or pit pass will receive a free hot dog and soft
drink! Plus we expect a pretty good field of cars and some exciting racing!
Now
less than two weeks until our first Friday Night Special on June 27 when the MS
run 50 laps for $250 to win! Plus the SS, MTC
and Karts will also run. 2nd powder puff of the season is just two
weeks away on June 28!
