GARY KNIGHT AND DON HOSKINS came to the Mottville Speedway for the first time Saturday night and each won a 12 lap Mini Thunder Car feature! Each also won a heat!

Mini Stock season points leader Eric Root won two 12 lap features over leading rookie Glenna Sargent and both Root and Sargent won heats.

In the first spectator drags in several years Richard Allbee won with a Ford Ranger. The drags were run double elimination style and one and one with Shelly Lauderdale 2^nd, Judith Holden 3^rd, Glenna Sargent 4^th and Rita Courtney 5^th. Another spectator drag is schedule for August 30.

The spectator drags were really most exciting and already for August 30 Becky Moore plans to enter a truck and Eric Root plans to be driving a truck. Rita Courtney may be bringing a Ford Escort! Tonight Lauderdale drove a GMC Sonoma pickup as did Judith Holden. Courtney and Sargent drove vans.

Sunday is Richard Allbee’s 60^th birthday so come to the track and wish him a happy birthday!

Kids ride in the race cars Sunday. Next Saturday the Short Track Trucks Challenge Series.com comes to Mottville. August 17 is a Powder puff, Aug 23 the MCR Dwarf cars come to Mottville. Aug 24 hot dogs are 50 cents. Aug 30 is the next spectator drags, Aug 31 is autograph night and Monday, Sept 1, Labor Day is a trophy nite! So lots of great racing between now and Labor Day and then look out because all kinds of tracks close Labor Day week-end a few more within 2 weeks thereafter and our car count explodes!
