ADAM ROUTH came to the Mottville Speedway for the first time Saturday night and went away with his biggest racing pay-off ever as he took home $115 and won the 15-lap Mini Stock feature!

Barry Harrison appeared to have the feature win well in hand as he had a half lap lead with 12 laps in but spun in turn one. Even after pausing several seconds to refire the car and restarting Harrison, incredibly, still had the lead but he pulled in the next lap with heating problems and gave the lead to Routh, his son in law, who by now was right behind him! Routh went on for the win over Eric Root, John Yoder, Matt Van Dam and Glenna Sargent. Van Dam was an early leader before spinning in turn two.

Root won the Jenkins NAPA Auto Parts Stores dash over Yoder and Van Dam and Harrison won the heat over Routh and Root.

Two time Mini Thunder Car defending points champion Fred Garrett returned to Mottville after a long absence and won the 15 lap feature, dash and heat and won the 20” color TV-stereo given away by the Midwest Classic Racers! Garrett won his 23rd feature of the season over Gary Knight, Richard Allbee, Tony Vitali, Dean Hoskins, Dan Bates and Paul Lewis. Garrett won the dash over Knight and Allbee and a heat over Knight and Allbee while Vitali won his first heat ever in the 2nd heat over Lewis and Bates.

Mike Zehr took over the karts season points lead by winning his 7th feature of the season in a 12 lap and taking the heat over Scott Dunning.

Robert Sutton won the street stock heat and 15-lap feature and Tony Eldridge won the Bomber heat and 15-lap feature.

Tom Silwa won an exciting 20 lap Dwarf Car feature over John Wylie, Jeff Slayton, Rob Roney, Paul Wylie, Harold Mitchem Angela Asumus, Terry Slaton and Jim Clapp. In the heat it was John Wylie over Silwa and Roney.

It was an almost picture perfect night for racing and we had a very good car count and one of our larger crowds of the season!

Routh had won a feature back in 1998 at another track but his highest winnings for a night were $75 for tonight!

We registered 3 more cars, a MS and 2 MTC! We had 9 MTC so the last 4 nights we have either 9 or 8 MTC!

Knight moved into 7th in the MTC points with Vitali moving to 8th and Hoskins 10th

In the MS Van Dam moved into 8th place, John Yoder 9th and Harrison 12th. Both Yoder and Harrison said they would be back Sunday so both should climb some more!

Sunday night the Mottville Mini Cup cars return to Mottville and they are bringing some Jackson cars with them and expect between 7-12 cars! The Pro Stocks also join the field so we may well one of our bigger car counts of the season! Hot Dogs are 50 cents all evening long!

Leroy Dick brought his new car to the track and registered it but had starter problems! He hopes to be running his MTC Sunday! Bates actually drove Amos Mosher’s MTC but has his own MS which he should be driving Sunday!

MS car count is on the rise again and the more cars we get the more we pay! Tonight we had 6 MS and made a very good pay-off but with 10, 12, 14 or 20 we could do even better!
