BARRY
HARRISON took home $120 Sunday night at the
Mottville Speedway as he won the 20 lap Mini Stock feature by less than a car
length over Merle Yoder! For Harrison it was his 3rd feature win of
the season. Rick Fritz was 3rd followed by Eric Root and John Yoder.
Root
won the Jenkins NAPA Auto Parts Stores dash over Merle and John Yoder and
Harrison won the heat over Root and Fritz.
John
Yoder moved to 5th in the season point standings with Harrison moving
to 8th.
60
year old Richard Allbee moved into the Mini Thunder Car season points lead as he
won a 15 lap feature over Tony Neering, Ryan Pineau, Mike Guthrie, Dean Hoskins
and Gary Knight. In the 2nd 15 lap feature it was Neering over
Knight, Pineau, Allbee and Guthrie.
Hoskins
won the dash over Dave Cressler and Knight and Neering beat Allbee in
the heat in a near photo finish!
Knight
moved to 6th in the season point standings with Hoskins moving to 7th.
Tom
Miller won the 30 lap Mottville Mini Cup feature over Rob Atkinson, Dave Kutz,
Jerry Benson and Freeman Hochstetler. In the dash it was Atkinson over Miller
and Benson and in the heat it was Miller over Atkinson and Kutz. The MMC cars
will return on Sunday, September 7.
Larry
Saunders won the street stock feature and heat and Kelsey Saunders won 2 Bomber
15 lap features and the heat.
Labor
Day week-end is the final triple header week-end of the season at Mottville
although regular Saturday and Sunday racing continues until the end of November.
Saturday,
its double elimination spectator drags, Sunday is autograph night and Monday is
trophy night.
Once
again we had 8 MTC and 6 MS! From what our MS drivers are telling me we should
have a lot more MS soon! We are paying $100 to win with 5 or more cars, $125
with 12 cars and $150 with 14 cars! Plus with 6 or more cars heats pay $20 to
win!
Weather
wise this was probably our best week-end of the season! Upper 70’s to low
80’s both days and nice!
I
would not be at all surprised to see 15-20 MTC before the season is over! We
actually have almost that many running now but just not on the same night!
Heard
a lot of talk about the spectator drags for this Saturday! We put two cars on
the track at one time for one lap. You have to be beat twice before you are out
so you are guaranteed two races at least!
If
you are looking for a MTC Terry Baldwin has a 6 cylinder front wheel drive race
ready for $200! He has raced it about 2-3 times this season.
Things
are definitely on the upswing at Mottville and we are about to head into our
busiest part of the season! Historically September and October have always been
our best two months of the season! So if you want to have some fun and see some
great racing come to Mottville!
Nice
to see our oldest driver, Mr.,
Richard Allbee, take over the points lead! Dick might be one of the oldest
drivers ever in the state of Michigan to win a season points title!
