MERLE YODER won his 13th feature of the season Sunday night at the Mottville Speedway as won the 15 lap Mini Stock feature and took home $120 for the night!

Shane Eldridge was 2nd followed by Rick Fritz, Barry Harrison and Eric Root. Yoder also won the heat over Eldridge and Fritz.

Paul Scott won his 21st Pro Stock feature of the season in a 15 lapper and took the PS season points championship as he won 21 of 29 features! Scott also won the heat.

Street Stock season points leader Robert Sutton won his 15th feature of the season with a 15 lap win over Larry Saunders and Leonard Davis. Sutton also too the heat over Davis and Saunders.

Tom Miller won the 20 lap Mini Cup feature over Rob Atkinson, Dave Kutz, John Hackler and Freeman Hochstetler. Miller also won the heat. The Mini Cups will return September 27.

Kart season points leader Mike Zehr won his 8th feature of the season with a 12 lap victory over 5 year old Zachary Rife! Results were the same in the heat.

Steve Clifford won the first Mini Thunder Car 15 lap feature over Chuck Hall, Richard Allbee, Tony Eldridge, Tim Vitali, Mike Guthrie and Kelsey Saunders. In the 2nd 15 lapper it was Eldridge winning his first MTC feature of the season over Allbee, Saunders, Guthrie and Vitali.

Hall won the Jenkins NAPA Auto Parts Stores dash over Clifford and Allbee. Clifford won the first heat over Hall and Allbee and Eldridge won the 2nd heat over Allbee and Vitali.

A rules change has been to the street stock division to allow more cars from other tracks to race as other tracks begin to close for the season. SS can now have a 4 bbl carb, headers and aluminum intake. Season points leader Robert Sutton strongly supported these changes. We are also adding a new Radial Tire Street Stock class with the same rules as the regular SS class except they will run radial tires to save on costs.

Saturday night will feature one on one spectator drags double elimination style. Regular Saturday and Sunday night racing continues through the end of November.

We had a very good car count and really warm weather with temps close to 80!

Yoder’s $120 winnings matched his season high which was also set at Mottville!

Shane Eldridge moved top 7th in the MS season point standings and Fritz to 8th but Eldridge was running on a borrowed engine and said his season is now over as he has to give the engine back! Harrison moved to 5th in the standings and is knocking on the door of 4th!

Tony Eldridge moved to 12th in the MTC point standings. He has already clinched the Bomber season title as we have discontinued Bombers and allowed the MTC division to include both 4 and 6 cylinders.

The revised rules are now available on our web site. We figured no matter what we did with the SS rules we could not finish any worse than we have been with this class for far this season! In particular I think the opportunity is there for the new RADIAL TIRE SS CLASS! Rules are the same for this class as regular SS except they run radial tires which saves on costs. We will see how the SS classes due the next 3-4 weeks before making a final decision on weather they will run the 18th Annual Indiana-Michigan Challenge Cup the last week-end of October.

Leroy Dick had some mechanical problems with his MTC but vowed to be back strong next week-end! I love that spirit!

All in all a very good week-end of racing at Mottville! Car counts are up and lots of excitement and interest! Looks like the final 24 nights of racing at Mottville should be very good!
