MERLE
YODER won
his 14th feature of the season and took home $115 Saturday night as
the Mottville Speedway as he took the head on lap 13 of the 25 lapper and held
off Jay Howard for the win. Howard settled for 2nd followed by Eric
Root, John Yoder, Glenna Sargent and Matt Van Dam. Van Dam led the first 10 laps
before Howard took over.
In
the heat it was Howard over Merle Yoder and Root while in the Jenkins NAPA Auto
Parts Stores dash it was Merle Yoder over John Yoder and Root.
Dave
Logan returned to the Mottville Speedway for the first time this season and went
on to win the 15 lap Street Stock feature over Sandra Degoede and Tom Strohauer.
In the heat it was Degoede over Sherman Weimer.
The
two Mini Thunder car 15 lap features were wild affairs with two first time
feature winners! Eric Root won the first one over Jeff Van Dam, Sonnie Degoede,
Pernell Hyde, Dave Smith Sr and Dave Smith Jr. In the 2nd 15 lapper
it was Dave Smith Jr winning over Van Dam and Degoede. Van Dam was driving for
the first time ever!
Dave
Smith Sr won the first heat over Hyde and Degoede while Hyde took the 2nd
heat over Root and Van Dam.
Street
Stock season points leader Robert Sutton stopped by briefly to say he had blow
his engine on his SS truck but would have it back next week. He also donated a
beautiful sign that is in each picture of the heat-dash and feature winners!
Thanks Rob!
Considering
that at least 3 tracks in our area were running big specials and it was the
final night of the St Joseph County Fair in Centerville we did pretty well! We
were minus a bunch of MTC regulars and it was probably because of various
reasons!
Strohauer
and Weimer both said they will be recruiting radial tire street stock drivers to
come to Mottville! That is very
good news!
Sunday
the weather forecast is for another beautiful day so it should be a great night
of racing again!
