A few days late but here we are!

Today it came to me that it is only less than 4 weeks until our 10th Annual Awards Banquet, less than 7 weeks until the first hot lap session and less than 8 weeks until the regular season starts! Fantastic! It has now been over 7 weeks since the season ended so we are about at the half way mark and with the banquet and hot laps the second half is not as long! At least I keep telling myself that!

Last week I mentioned that Paul Scott wanted to run on Sunday in February a race similar to Mottville Maddness and I asked anyone interested to email me or call. As of today I have received 4 positive responses in addition to Paul Scott. Oddly enough all 4 are from Illinois including Bob Lyeria in the street stock number 38 who won the Mottville Maddness heat and feature! What I truly can not believe is that I have not heard from Randy Morley! I figured Randy was always ready to race anytime!

Anyway here is where we are on a "February Folly" race. We can do it February 11 or February 25 if we have enough interest. February 18th I will be in Florida! Both are on Sunday afternoons and we would open at 2 P.M. and race at 3 P.M. and be on the road home by 5:30 P.M. Trophies to heat winners and top 3 in the features and run 4 regular divisions plus karts! So if you have an interest in Feb.11 or Feb. 25th let me know this week!

EMAIL ME!!!

This year's Banquet may well be our largest ever! To date we have 57 reservations and more expected! I am sure it will be our best as Ersell Eby and her sister Sally are working on decorations and adding things to make this one to remember!

Clipp Auto Supply, our Auto Value dealer in Nappanee, is giving a great door prize for the 50/50 drawing! A limited edition 1:24 scale die cast Dick Trickle car! Really neat! Thanks to Rod Stump for his donation!

Points plaques sponsors are lining up also! Jim Moore Motors in Nappanee is sponsoring 6 plaques, Holle's Salvage in North Webster 2 plaques, CD's Party Store in Burlington and The Whistle Stop in Burlington 1 each! Goshen Collision Center in Goshen will be sponsoring several plaques as they always do! Pretty sure Hair Demensions in Nappanee will also sponsor plaques as Rob Shaw has for several years now!

We received our first two Kart registrations for 2001 Saturday! Greg Brown, 2000 kart points champion, registered number 83 and his sister Jessica Brown, 2nd in 2000 points and a cheerleader from Schoolcraft, number 38! It will be great to have the Brown family back at Mottville in 2001! Jessica, by the way, is only 14 and Greg is only 10 years old. What a start they have! Plus besides the two Browns they usually have some Douglas family members involved also and on most nights have around 4 karts at Mottville!

Remember if a number is not paid for by now it is open for 2001! It's first come fist served so don't be unhappy when you come to the track and your number is already taken as everyone has had plenty of opportunity to save their favorite number!

February 1 is the deadline for paying for banquet tickets which are $25 each. We need the 10 days after Feb.1 to get the plaques ordered and we have to let the hall know how many to prepare food for and let me tell you the food at Dal-Mar Catering Hall is terrific! Best Swiss steak in the entire world!

So until next week, remember if you want to race Feb.11 or Feb.25, I need to hear from you this week!

Stay warm and stay dry and always,

TURN LEFT!!!!
